Millennial speaker to share loan debt experience and tips for paying off student loans

After racking up $128,000 in student loan debt, a presenter at UW-La Crosse aims to help current college students make smarter financial choices. Jeni Burckart is a millennial pharmacist who graduated with $128,000 in student loan debt despite working two jobs and going to a public, in-state university in Iowa. After making an expensive mistake during repayment, she decided people shouldn't have to make expensive mistakes while repaying their loans. Burckart has since committed herself to relentlessly pursuing student loan debt solutions to help students make smart financial choices. Burckart will present “Dominate Your Debt” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, in 3110 Student Union. Admission is free. Burckart’s book, “Repayable,” walks readers through the best way to repay their student loans based on their financial situation. Additionally, she blogs at www.repayable.org and has a YouTube channel (Repayable). She believes the student loan debt crunch can be fixed and is starting the movement by empowering borrowers to repay their loans.
