Concert features East-European folk music on authentic Russian instruments
A concert at UW-La Crosse will feature Russian and other East-European folk music.
The UW-Madison Russian Folk Orchestra will hold a concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 13, in Annett Recital Hall, UWL Center for the Arts, 333 N 16th St. Admission is free.
The orchestra is a unique ensemble performing Russian and other East-European folk music on authentic Russian instruments, primarily balalaikas and domras. The music director and founder of the orchestra is Victor Gorodinsky. The featured soloist is Anya Gubenkova.
The performance is sponsored by the UWL Department of Global Cultures and Languages and CREECA, the Center for Russia, East Europe and Central Asia.
