A March concert not only gave a tribute to the Beatles, it raised money for the campus food pantry.
UW-L's four vocal jazz ensembles combined for a concert in March that raised money for the campus food pantry. Some of the singers presented $350 to the university’s food pantry at the end of the spring semester when pantry volunteers were collecting food from staff and students. From left, music students Lauren Gause and Henry Halling presented the check to campus food pantry volunteers Natalie Magnus, Lindsay Nevins, Nima Lendey and Noahya Karbeah.
A March concert not only gave a tribute to the Beatles, it raised money for the campus food pantry.
UW-L's four vocal jazz ensembles’ "An Almost Acappella Tribute to the Beatles" concert featured 15 arrangements of hits written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney to a standing-room only crowd in the Center for the Arts’ Annett Recital Hall. Admission was a $3 donation designated to be given, in part, to an on-campus charitable organization.

UW-L's vocal jazz groups include three mixed ensembles:
The Collegiates (eight singers); Voices on Vine (eight singers); Maroon and Gray (12 singers); and one female ensemble, La Capella (12 singers). Auditions, open to all students, are held the first week of classes during the fall semester.
This wasn’t the first time the UW-L vocalists were generous with concert proceeds. Last year's winter vocal jazz concert raised money for UW-L's Habitat for Humanity student organization.
