Six student athlete alumni, including a former coach, will be inducted into the UWL Wall of Fame
Sunday, Oct. 11. Alumni and their years on campus include:

- Luanne Bruss Murray, 1989-93
- Tricia Adkins, 1991-94
- Craig Kusick, 1991-95
- Erik Halverson, 1993-96
- Angela (Klatt) Andring, 2001-04

This year’s inductees will be honored during a brunch at
10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, in the Cleary Alumni & Friends Center. Tickets are $25 per person; $10 for those 12 and under. Reservations are due

Don Fritsch[/caption]
Don Fritsch
Athlete: 1972-74; 1978-80
Coach: Head Men's Cross-Country, 1991-2012
Interim Head Men's Track & Field, 2007-08
Don Fritsch coached cross-country to two NCAA III championships, in 2001 and 2005, and 10 top-seven national finishes. With Fritsch at the helm, the harriers also ran to eight conference titles. He was named 2001 NCAA III Cross-Country Coach of the Year, and brought home Conference Coach of the Year honors seven times. He was inducted into the Wisconsin Cross-Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2004. As a student-athlete, Fritsch, ’80, earned conference and NAIA district honors in cross-country and track. He and his wife, Susan, live in La Crosse.

Luanne Bruss Murray[/caption]
Luanne Bruss Murray
Athlete: 1989-93
Her last race of her collegiate career was her best. Luanne Bruss Murray won the 400-meter hurdles at the 1993 NCAA Outdoor National Championship. Murray lettered in track & field from 1989-1993. She earned a bachelor’s degree in recreation management in 1993. Murray is an aesthetic wellness coordinator at Small Stones Cancer Center in St. Joseph’s Hospital. She and her husband, John, have two children and live in Slinger, Wisconsin.

Tricia Adkins[/caption]
Tricia Adkins
Athlete: 1991-94
Tricia Adkins won the national balance beam title while a gymnast for the Eagles in the early ’90s. She was part of the NCGA All-Academic Team her senior year. Adkins earned a bachelor’s degree in French and Spanish in 1994. She is an English language learner teacher with Bloomington (Minnesota) Public Schools. Adkins lives in Eden Prairie with her husband, Nabil Ammi, and their two children.

Craig Kusick[/caption]
Craig Kusick
Athlete: 1991-95
A three-sport athlete at Eagan and Apple Valley, Minnesota, high schools, Craig Kusick pared that down to two sports during college. He lettered all four years in both football and baseball. He played on the NCAA III Football Championship teams in 1992 and 1995, where he learned that “hard teamwork pays off.” Kusick is currently the owner of Bent’s Camp Resort in Land O’ Lakes, Wisconsin, where he lives with his wife, Amy, and their two daughters.

Erik Halverson[/caption]
Erik Halverson
Athlete: 1993-96
A three-sport letter winner and 1992 graduate of Tomahawk High School, Erik Halverson took to the gridiron at college. He earned letters all four years, 1993-96, and helped UWL earn conference titles in ’93, ’95 and ’96. The highlight of his collegiate career was the team winning the 1995 NCAA III championship. “The ultimate goal of any college athlete should be to become a national champion and to achieve that goal is amazing.” Halverson works with Packaging Corp of America in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, where he lives with his wife, Jessica, and their two children.

Angela (Klatt) Andring[/caption]
Angela (Klatt) Andring
Athlete: 2001-04
Angela (Klatt) Andring sprinted to success on the track & field team from 2001-04. She lettered and was an All-American all four years, after running on the track and cross-country teams at Eagan, Minnesota, High School. During college, Andring was on the Dean’s List, Athletes in Action and Campus Crusade. She earned a bachelor’s degree in history and English in 2004. Andring currently works at Cytogenetics Laboratory at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. She and her husband, Jared, ’03, live in Zumbrota, Minnesota, with their two children.
