Kulinski will take over the UW System “@UWpowersMe” Twitter account to represent the campus in an ongoing Knowledge Powers Wisconsin social media campaign. Kulinski, from La Crosse, is majoring in marketing and minoring in communications. In an effort to highlight the university’s contributions to the UW System, she will post tweets and photos highlighting her life on campus and what makes UW-L special. Twitter users can follow her @UWpowersMe Nov. 11-17. Kulinski is a Vanguard, works in iComm, handles social media efforts for the student center, and works as associate editor for the La Crosse magazine. “I am really excited to show a personal side to what goes on at UW-L and in the La Crosse community because there are so many great things going on all the time,” says Kulinski. “I also really want to show how close the UW-L community is because I think that's what makes this university so special.” The @UWpowersMe Twitter account allows students, faculty, alumni and administrators an opportunity to take control for one week, telling their UW story as only they can. It is a component of the social media arm of “Knowledge Powers Wisconsin,” a campaign that highlights how the UW System powers economic growth in Wisconsin, improves the state’s competitive edge by leveraging human capital, and supports business and industry by strengthening local communities. The @UWpowersMe Twitter account kicked off in February.
