Organizers call 2023 networking event ‘a huge success’
More than 70 UW-La Crosse students connected with dozens of alumni, business owners and faculty during Take an Eagle to Breakfast Wednesday, Feb. 22, at the Cleary Alumni & Friends Center.
The event, sponsored by the Silver Eagles alumni group, allows students from UWL’s College of Business Administration to network with local employers. It also prepares them for the Career Fair sponsored by Academic Advising & Career Services, which is held later in the day.
“This year’s Take an Eagle to Breakfast was a huge success,” says Janie Morgan, executive director for strategic engagement. “This event provides an opportunity for the students to meet area business leaders to talk about careers, internships and possible positions. The networking also gives the students more confidence as they proceed to the Career Fair.
“The Silver Eagles are proud to sponsor this event, which encourages students and alumni to stay connected to the College of Business Administration.”
Take an Eagle to Breakfast also eases the burden on employers, linking them to young, talented workers at a time when many companies are struggling with hiring.
Proceeds from the event support the Silver Eagles’ Endowment Scholarship Fund, which has provided more than 50 scholarships totaling nearly $50,000 over the past 20 years.
