Take an Eagle to Breakfast

Posted 11:29 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024

UWL's Take an Eagle to Breakfast event, sponsored and organized by the Silver Eagles alumni group, is set for Wednesday, Feb. 28, in the Cleary Alumni & Friends Center.

Networking event opens opportunities for students, local businesses

Local businesses can connect with the best and brightest business students from UWL’s College of Business Administration during Take an Eagle to Breakfast Wednesday, Feb. 28.

The event, scheduled for 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. in Strzelczyk Great Hall in the Cleary Alumni & Friends Center, facilitates networking opportunities that help students find mentorship and career opportunities, and that help businesses recruit young, skilled employees. It is sponsored and organized by the Silver Eagles alumni group.

“Take an Eagle to Breakfast is an excellent opportunity to shake hands and introduce yourself to the alumni and employers in the room,” says Mandi Hinrichs, ’03, president of the Silver Eagles. “You never know who you may meet, and who they may know. Old school networking will forever be the best way to get ahead in business.”

By attending Take an Eagle to Breakfast, Hinrichs says, students can set themselves apart and demonstrate their enthusiasm to employers.

With 75 business students, 50-plus business representatives, and 15 staff and faculty expected to attend, there is ample opportunity for students to find a mentor or career opportunity that aligns with their interests.

“Take an Eagle to Breakfast is mutually beneficial to both students and employers in that it offers a networking opportunity for students to feel comfortable in talking and sharing their experiences and education,” says Dan Braund, ’72, committee chair of the event for the Silver Eagles Board of Directors.

In addition to networking opportunities, there will be a presentation by UWL business alum Paige Geary, ’19, social media supervisor for Kwik Trip. Attendees will also receive a free breakfast.

Those hoping to sponsor or donate to the event have several options available.
