‘Broadway extraordinaire’ shares talent, knowledge as choreographer of UWL’s “Singin’ in the Rain.”

A new face is choreographing a theatre production for UWL. Ted Louis Levy, known for his work on Broadway and beyond, spent two weeks with the cast to put together the tap dancing for the musical “Singin’ in the Rain.” “I’ve grown more in these two weeks than in the last couple of years,” says Sophomore Avital Maltinski, who’s playing Kathy Seldon, in reference to her work with Levy. https://www.youtube.com/embed/4UALYqVqpMg Levy won an Emmy Award and has been nominated for Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critic Circle Awards. He was also on campus last spring. “Singin’ in the Rain” will be a part of UWL’s Creative Imperatives, an annual event on campus that showcases UWL’s College of Liberal Studies. This year’s theme is the intersection of art and science. The show opens at 7:30 p.m. Friday, February 26 and runs through the following weekend. Tickets go on sale starting Monday, February 22. “It’s a golden-age musical,” says Sophomore John Divney, who’s playing Don Lockwood. “You can’t miss out.”
