UW-La Crosse alumnus Tom Wargolet, ’85, will share experiences throughout his career that helped him transition into his current leadership role with Lifetouch Schools, a division of Shutterfly Inc., during a lecture at UW-La Crosse.

Wargolet will present “The Misfit Numbers Guy: Expanding Career Experiences Beyond Accounting and Finance” during the UWL College of Business Administration Citizens State Bank First Friday Lecture Series.

The free public lecture will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 5, in Skogen Auditorium, 1400 Centennial Hall, 308 N. 16th St., La Crosse. A reception will follow the lecture in Cameron Hall of Nations, Centennial Hall.

Wargolet is executive vice president and chief operating officer of the Lifetouch Schools, a division of Shutterfly Inc. (NASDAQ: SFLY). Shutterfly and Lifetouch help consumers capture, preserve, and share life’s important moments through professional and personal photography, as well as personalized products. Lifetouch was acquired by Shutterfly in April 2018. The company has sales totaling more than $2 billion.

Wargolet is responsible for sales, field execution, operations, marketing and customer service for the Lifetouch Schools, the national leader in school photography built on the enduring tradition of “Picture Day.” Wargolet started his career in public accounting and held various CFO positions before joining Lifetouch in 2005.

Wargolet is a 1985 UWL graduate with a bachelor of science in accountancy.  He lives in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, with his wife of 33 years, Cindy (Kind), an ’85 UWL graduate. They have three grown children: Katie, ’12, Kyle and Samantha.

The lecture series provides scholarly dialogue about business management and leadership directly from today’s business leaders.
