Kinesis Dance Theatre celebrates 10th anniversary with weekend performances
UWL's Kinesis Dance Theatre will perform its 10th-anniversary spring recital. The UWL modern dance troupe first made its debut on the Toland Theatre stage in March 2009, led by UWL faculty member, Kathy Gorman.
This year's concert will feature Kinesis crowd favorites from the past 10 years, including modern dance compositions by Gorman, the group's artistic director. This year’s recital will include "And the Glory, Angels of Autumn," and "Who is Figaro and What is He Doing in my Soup!" The spring recital will feature new choreography created by student members and alumni of Kinesis Dance Theatre. Current members will perform several of their own solo or small group pieces while working with the lighting and costume designers at UWL to create a full, theatrical experience.
Kinesis Dance Theatre will perform lyrical, jazz, tap and hip hop artistry at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 10 and 11, in Toland Theatre, Center for the Arts, 333 N. 16th St. General admission tickets are on online or by phone or in person at the Box Office beginning Monday, May 6, at 1 p.m. at 608-785-8522. Tickets are $6 for UWL students, $16 for senior citizens and other students; and $18 for others.
