UW-L students who currently have a show running in the student gallery will detail their work during an upcoming panel discussion.
The eight students will discuss the content, inspiration, processes, techniques and more about their past, present and future art works during the discussion from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, in 3214 Centennial Hall. The program is free and open to all.
The discussion is a great experience for the student artists to discuss in detail their artworks in a professional setting, says UW-L Art Professor Jennifer Williams Terpstra. “This opportunity also prepares students to explore new ideas, questions and comments viewers may have as to how student artists can further grow as an artist,” she notes.
Students in the discussion will include: Carrie Hilson, Kayla Kirchner, Nou Lee, Lexi Ninmer, Sarah Schultz, Alyssa Shurbert-Hetzel, Madline Thorn and Kelsey Walsh. Their artwork can be seen in “Minds and Matters: Artwork from the 399 Professional Practices and Problems Class,” running through Wednesday, Dec. 10, in the Student Gallery, 340 Center for the Arts. Admission is free.
Regular gallery hours are noon-1:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, and 4-6 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays. Admission is free.
