Sports miscellaneous. University of Wisconsin-La Crosse student-athletes posted the highest combined grade point average among the nine Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) institutions in 2013-14.  UW-L finished with a cumulative grade point average of 3.240.  The Eagles also recorded the highest number of student-athletes (348, approximately 62 percent of the student-athlete population) with a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or better.

It marks the 15th consecutive year UW-L has recorded the highest combined grade point average in the WIAC.  It is also the 12th time in the last 13 years the student-athlete cumulative grade point average (3.240) was higher than the combined grade point average of UW-L's overall student body (3.180).  With a higher grade point average of the overall student body, UW-L receives a WIAC All-Academic Award.  UW-L was one of five institutions to earn the WIAC All-Academic Award, joining UW-Platteville, UW-Stevens Point, UW-Stout and UW-Superior.

UW-Stout was second (3.162) and UW-Eau Claire third (3.136) in student-athlete grade point average in 2013-14.  UW-Eau Claire was second (342) in the number of student-athletes with a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or better while UW-Stevens Point was third (332).

During the 2013-14 academic year, nearly 50 percent of the 5,000 student-athletes competing in the conference achieved a 3.00 grade point average or better (on a 4.00 scale) and were named to the Scholastic Honor Roll.

Individuals named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll received a certificate.  A total of 219 student-athletes from UW-L's women's teams earned the league honor while a total of 167 student-athletes from the men's squads earned recognition.  The WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll includes student-athletes named to multiple squads (cross country, track & field).
