UW-La Crosse theatre presents a holiday celebration

UW-L’s Department of Theatre Arts will be performing Charles Dickens’ "A Christmas Carol." Tickets range from $5 to $18 for the show running Dec. 6-14.

Christmas Carol artwork. UW-L's Department of Theatre Arts will perform "A Christmas Carol," written by Charles Dickens, adapted by Barbara Field. A Christmas Carol will show at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6; Saturday, Dec. 7; and Thursday, Dec. 12; through Saturday, Dec. 14. Matinee performances will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, and Sunday, Dec. 8. All performances will take place in Toland Theatre, Center for the Arts. Charles Dickens’ famous story, "A Christmas Carol," is sure to put anyone in the festive spirit. Ebenezer Scrooge, a crotchety old banker, has lived a life of selfishness and greed. Scrooge is visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future as they journey through time and memory in an effort to find the true spirit of Christmas. This heartwarming tale tells lessons of acceptance, generosity and goodwill to everyone. Join in on the celebration during this holiday season! UW-L's Department of Theatre Arts will also be hosting a food drive for those in need. Bring non-perishable food items or toiletries to the lobby of Center for the Arts during the two-week run of the show. Donations will go to WAFER and the UW-L Helping Our Own food pantry. Tickets go on sale at 1  p.m. Monday, Dec. 2. Box office hours are 1 to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, and one hour before show times. Tickets are  $5 for UW-L students, $16 for seniors and non-UW-L students and $18 for others. Call the box office at 608.785.8522 for tickets and more information.
