UWL big band will swing again

A night of music and dance at the Big Band Cabaret.

29th annual Big Band Cabaret is Feb. 13

The 17-piece UW-La Crosse Tuxedo Dance Orchestra will recreate the sights and sounds of the fabulous swing era. Hear the music of Glenn Miller, Les Brown, Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey and more at the 29th annual Big Band Cabaret at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, in Valhalla, Cartwright Center-Gunning Addition. Joining the Tuxedo Dance Orchestra, directed by Karyn Quinn, will be featured guest artist, Tim Henke, recreating the hits of Frank Sinatra. Among the selections performed will be “Just The Way You Look Tonight," “You Make Me Feel So Young” and “Street of Dreams.” A dance floor will be available for those who want to dance. Dance team Stan and Molly Brietlow will be featured on a special swing tribute. The UWL “Black Coat Jazz Band" will also perform a set of swing and dance selections. The suggested donation for this scholarship fundraiser is $10 for students and $15 for others. The concert is Cabaret style seating at tables and beverage service will be available.
