Veteran students at UWL have honored a university coach for his continued work on the annual Veteran’s Day Breakfast.

Veteran students at UWL have honored a university coach for his continued work on the annual Veteran’s Day Breakfast.

Josh Buchholtz, head coach of the men’s track and field team, received the UWL Service to Veteran Students Award for his enduring work with the Veterans Day breakfast held each year at UWL’s Mitchell Hall on Nov. 11.

Joseph Arbanas, a UWL student majoring in physics and an Army veteran, nominated Buchholtz for the inaugural award. Arbanas cited Buchholtz’s extensive work in planning, organizing and leading to make the Veterans Breakfast an ongoing community event to serve area veterans since 2010.

Buchholtz received a plaque in appreciation on April 30. His name will be engraved on a perpetual plaque displayed in the UWL Veterans Education Benefits Office, 116 Graff Main Hall.
