Music of Queen, Simon and Garfunkel, Beatles to be performed

Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” Simon and Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence” and The Beatles’ “Here Comes the Sun” are all part of an upcoming vocal jazz ensembles concert. The performance is set for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, in Annett Recital Hall in the UWL Center for the Arts, 333 N 16^th St. The nine-member, all-female ensemble, La Capella, will start the concert with three acappella classics. They will end the first set with the newest arrangement by Indiana vocal jazz professor Jeremy Fox, “Orange-Colored Sky.” The all-male ensemble, T.B.A., will perform their unpredictable settings of songs by Van Morrison, Elvis and The Nylons, to name a few. The Collegiates, the university’s award-winning vocal jazz group, will conclude the evening’s songfest with rich harmonies accompanied by an outstanding rhythm section.
