International cultures celebrated at 53rd annual event, seeking proposals for Global Citizenship Showcase
The rich diversity and culture that international students bring to the university and community will be celebrated at the 53rd International Banquet Saturday, April 14, at UW-La Crosse.
The banquet will run from 6-9 p.m. in The Bluffs, on the second floor of UWL’s Student Union, 521 East Ave. N. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
During the banquet international students, as well as faculty, staff and community members perform music, dance, and other entertainment. The audience will also see traditional clothing from around the world and enjoy an international-themed menu. A variety of meat and vegetarian options are provided as a buffet.
Global Citizenship Showcase
A Global Citizenship Showcase will run from 5-6 p.m. in The Bluffs Foyer on the second floor of UWL’s Student Union. The showcase is a social and poster session that displays of the area's global reach. UWL international students, study abroad students, faculty, and community members will showcase their international experiences and international projects.
International Education & Engagement is seeking proposals that highlight international research, projects, and/or experiences for posters and table displays for the Global Citizenship Showcase. The deadline for proposals is Thursday, March 15. Proposals can be submitted online.

Where: The Bluffs Foyer and The Bluffs Ballroom, on the second floor of UWL’s Student Union, 521 East Ave. N.
Admission: $25 for the general public, $15 for students. Tickets on sale at the Student Union information counter or at www.uwlax.edu/conted/international-banquet/. Table sponsorships are also available for $250 per table, which includes eight banquet tickets and name listed in the program.
Parking: Free in Lot C2, located in front of Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.
