Woodstock tribute to conclude Moon Tunes concerts Sept. 3

La Crosse Valley View Rotary’s Moon Tunes will close out another successful season with a Woodstock Tribute concert at Riverside Park.

[caption id="attachment_43198" align="alignright" width="300"]Moon Tunes 2015 Moon Tunes 2015[/caption] Series in Riverside Park continues to grow La Crosse Valley View Rotary’s Moon Tunes will close out another successful season with a Woodstock Tribute concert at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, in La Crosse’s Riverside Park.  UW-La Crosse, Viterbo University, and Western Technical College are major sponsors of the event; admission is free. The Woodstock lineup, not in order of appearance, includes —
  • Jefferson Airplane - Irene Keenan and the Skeleton Crew
  • The Who - Actual Size, featuring Michael Van Muchow
  • CCR - Cheech and the Family
  • Sly and the Family - Mr. Blink
  • Ten Years After - Overserved Gentlemen
  • Joe Cocker - Blind Baby Olin
  • Canned Heat - BandSaw Brothers
  • Jimi Hendrix - Sum Chuck
  • The Grateful Dead - Innocuous Voodoo
  • Santana - Dave Rogers
  • The Band - House of Curds
  • Ricthie Havens - Henry Hansen
The Logan High School Rotary Interact Club will be selling soda, water and popcorn throughout the concert. Piggy’s will sell sandwiches with penne pasta salad, baby carrots and a pickle for $5. A special brownie dessert in honor of Woodstock will be available for $1. Along with the city's three institutions of higher education, the end of summer Moon Tunes Woodstock Tribute is sponsored by: La Crosse Valley View Rotary, City of La Crosse, SSE Music, and the La Crosse Radio Group. During the first two years of the performance series, it was referred to as Noon Tunes and held at noon Wednesdays and Thursdays in Riverside Park.
