Alumni from around the world are invited to golf individually or in groups in the first ever Golf Goes Global alumni event Wednesday, Aug. 8, at the golf course of their choice. It is the same day as the annual UW-L alumni golf outing. Robert Jacobs, ’94, an attorney in California, is working to organize a group of golfers somewhere in the greater Los Angeles area Aug. 8. “There are a lot of UW-L alums in the area who continue to have a lot of school spirit and it’s fun and important to maintain the network after we graduate,” says Jacobs. The registration fee is $50 per person and supports UW-L Legacy Scholarships and other alumni programming. It includes a special edition UW-L polo shirt, a bag tag and a raffle ticket for a $250 VISA gift card. Jacobs adds it’s exciting to see alumni outside of Wisconsin. “There is something special about people who went to La Crosse,” he says. “You have a common thread, but also unique experiences that are fun to share.” The Alumni Association wants that thread to wrap around the world this August. Online registration for the Alumni & Friends Golf Outing is closed. If you would like to register for the golf outing contact the Alumni Association at 608.785.8489.
