A page within University Police Department

Patrol Bureau: The UWL Police Department’s patrol officers are the backbone of the department. They are the first line in educating our community about ways to be safe and avoid becoming victims of crime. They also are first on scene when responding to reports of any type of crime. Our patrol officers receive extensive training to ensure we are current on crime trends, investigation methods, and prevention techniques.

Detective Bureau: The Detective Bureau assists and supplements the Patrol Unit with incidents that are felony violations or require a follow up investigation.  These include theft, assault, and crimes of a sexual nature.  The Detective is also responsible for processing all the reports required by the court system for prosecution of offenses.

Special Events Unit: The campus has many other special events that are held each year that UWL PD is involved with — WIAA State Track & Field Championship Track and Oktoberfest.  Our staff is also actively involved with political events and political candidate and dignitary visits to the UWL. Any organizer of a event can reserve a dedicated Police Officer for their event. The rates are;

Police Officer $66.35 / Per Hour
Police Detective $87.15 / Per Hour
Police Sergeant $89.56 / Per Hour
Parking Enforcement $51.71 / Per Hour
Dispatch $48.57 / Per Hour

Bicycle Patrol Unit: Bike officers cover a wide range of activities — from general patrols, alcohol enforcement, special events, etc
