Under Wisconsin Open Records Law, records generated by the UW-La Crosse Police Department may be subject to release. Please fill out the form below to complete your request. The department processes and releases all records in a reasonable and timely manner, in compliance with the State of Wisconsin’s open records laws. We will notify the requester when the request has been completed.
PLEASE NOTE: Police reports can be requested AFTER an initial appearance has happened within that case.
UW-La Crosse University Police prefers all records requests to be submitted via our online form below. However, requests may also be submitted by email at UWLPDpublicrecords@uwlax.edu. Requests may also be made in person at UW-La Crosse University Police main headquarters (605 17th St. N. La Crosse, WI). Crash Reports

- You will need to provide one of the follow to search for the report:
- WI DOT Document Number
- Date and Wisconsin Driver License number

UW-La Crosse University Police may bill requesters $0.25 for each physical copy made, but will not charge reproduction costs for electronic copies of records that exist in electronic format. A location fee may be charged if the cost to locate the record(s) in question is $50.00 or more. Location fees will be calculated at the hourly salary and benefit rate for the lowest-paid employee capable of performing the task. No fee will be charged for the cost of reviewing records for possible redaction or removal of confidential information. Requests which exceed a total cost of $5.00 may require prepayment. UW-La Crosse University Police will quote the total cost of the transaction at the time of the request. All associated costs may be paid via check, money order, or cash. Payment is required before records are released to you. At this time, UW-La Crosse University Police does not accept credit card payments.
