UWL Orchestra sets April 30 concert at Viterbo

Spring concert to feature the student concerto competition winner in a program of varied music.

The UW-La Crosse Orchestra will hold its spring concert at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center, 929 Jackson St. The orchestra, directed by Associate Professor of Music Thomas Seddon, will perform a program of varied music featuring the student concerto competition winner. Among the selections are: “Fanfare for the Common Man” by Copland, “Overture: Orphus” by Gluck, “Nimrod” by Elgar, “Serenade for Winds” by Struss; and “Symphony No. 6” by Beethoven. Admission is free, but concertgoers are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for a local food pantry.
