New phone system coming July 1
The VoIP deployment continues throughout campus. With the change over taking place Wednesday, July 1, below are more details to ensure your VoIP phone is up and running. Five things you need to know: 1. A new website, www.uwlax.edu/voip, has been developed to assist you through this VoIP deployment process. This website provides updates, information and downloadable training guides for your phone. You can download the new user guides by clicking on: Quick Guide Advanced Guide **IMPORTANT** 2. If you have voice messages on your old analog phone, be sure to listen to them or capture them prior to June 30. This can be accomplished by recording your messages to a recorder via the speaker out jack, or by using the microphone on your recorder. If you need additional assistance, please contact the Eagle Help Desk (8774). 3. Prior to the July 1 migration date, you can now do some initial set up of your phone. For example you can set up your ring tones, make on-campus phone calls (using the four-digit extension), and set up your voice mail. 4. Be aware that at 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, we will begin transitioning your analog phone service to the new VoIP system, building by building. After this process takes place, you will then use only your new VoIP phone. Your old analog phone can be unplugged from the phone line jack at any time after July 1. Be sure not to disturb the data line to your new VoIP phone. You will be notified about the pickup of your old analog phone in late July. 5. If you have any questions or problems let us know right away. Call 785.8774, email helpdesk@uwlax.edu, or stop in and see us at the Eagle Help Desk in the Wing Technology Center.Student parking permit sales begin July 6
