Brief biography
I am originally from Louisiana, but I currently live in New England near Salem, MA (of course, my favorite holiday is Halloween!). I was a military spouse for 20 years until my husband’s retirement in 2019, so I have lived in many states as well as Okinawa, Japan and South Korea. I have two adult children, a son serving as a drill instructor in the Marine Corps and a daughter who is finishing her BS degree.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Professional Writing from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN. I earned my Master of Science in Adult Education from Troy University in Troy, AL. My doctorate is in Student Affairs Administration Leadership from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. I have worked in a range of institutions during my 19-year career and across roles such as admissions, records and registration, veterans’ affairs, and academic advising. I have extensive experience working specifically with military-connected students and teacher candidates. I am passionate about educational issues and removing barriers surrounding military-connected students in higher (and K-12) education.
