Brief biography

I am broadly interested in fungal biodiversity and fungal symbiosis. My research is focused on fungal taxonomy and systematics, fungal ecology, fungal-plant interactions (ectomycorrhizae), and the fungal-human interface through applied mycology.

Arthur Grupe II, Biology, co-authored the article "Fungal diversity and function in metagenomes sequenced from extreme environments" in Fungal Ecology published on Thursday, Sept. 5 by British Mycological Society. Fungi are increasingly recognized as key players in various extreme environments. This collaborative effort presents an analysis of publicly-sourced metagenomes from global extreme environments, focusing on fungal taxonomy and function.
