Brief biography

David Harlan is a theatre artist, writer and educator. He holds an MFA in theatre with emphases in directing and playwriting from the University of Idaho.

Jesse Curvin, David Harlan, Amanda Kolbe and Mary Trotter, all Theatre & Dance, presented "Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse" at as part of the 2024-2025 season on April 5 in Frederick Theatre. The production, directed by Mary Trotter, featured the work of David Harlan, sound design; Mandy Kolbe, props design and scenic painting; and Jesse Dylan Curvin, technical direction; along with the work of students River Podjasek, scenic design; Elin Vogeli, costume design; Coleman Breedlove, lighting design; A Muma, assistant props design; and Morgan Millard, stage management. 1,472 elementary school children enjoyed the production during nine weekday performances on April 2-4, as did audiences for the three sold out performances on Saturday, April 5.

The production, directed by Greg Parmeter, featured the work of Nate Mohlman, scenic design & technical direction; Anna Wooden and Michelle Collyar, costume design; Mandy Kolbe, props design and scenic painting; and David Harlan, lighting and sound engineering; along with the work of students Anna Montgomery and Kaitlyn Pyburn, choreography; Amber Meyers, lighting design; Connor Pangburn, sound design; Val Fish, dramaturgy; and Avery Weston, stage management. It ran Feb. 28 - March 9 in Toland Theatre at UWL.
