Profile for Jordan Rooker

Brief biography

A Midwest native and father of two, Jordan has long had a passion for all things technology. After spending nearly a decade as a correctional officer and 911 dispatcher, he has been overjoyed for the opportunity to do something locally that he truly loves.

In his former career path, he was often sought out for technical guidance and assistance with various devices and software. His colleagues would often joke that he needed an "IT" patch on his uniform. During the height of the pandemic he decided to take a risk at fully changing career paths to one he was certain would bring him more personal and familial happiness.

After spending a year travelling around the region completing repairs for Dell and getting his hands dirty (sometimes very dirty - server closets are gross), he managed to make connections that brought him to UW-La Crosse. Now as a Technical Support Consultant, he gets to share his passion for technology and assisting others on a regular basis.

The role close to home has also allowed him to rekindle his passion for the theatrical arts - something he had not really had the opportunity to participate in for over 15 years. He can now be found occasionally on stage performing with the La Crosse Community Theatre and hopes to extend those experiences further in the future.
