Brief biography

Laurie is chair of the Department of Theatre & Dance where she heads the Stage Management and Arts Administration emphases, teaches dramaturgy, and serves as the Production Manager for all shows. She came to UWL from the University of Arizona and has worked professionally in theatre, dance and opera. She is a member of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology, the Stage Managers Association, the Association for Arts Administration Educators, the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas, and Actors' Equity Association. Laurie is the author of The Stage Manager's Toolkit, published by Routledge Press.

Michelle Collyar, Laurie Kincman, Amanda Kolbe, Gregory Parmeter and Anna Wooden, all Theatre & Dance, presented "What the Constitution Means to Me" as part of the 2024-2025 season on Nov. 14 in Frederick Theatre. The production, directed by Greg Parmeter, featured the work of Mandy Kolbe, lighting design; Anna Wooden and Michelle Collyar, costume design; and Laurie Kincman, dramaturgy; along with the work of students Amber Meyers, scenic design; Coleman Breedlove, sound design; and River Podjasek, technical direction. It ran Nov. 14-17, 2024.

Michelle Collyar, Ashley Dobrogosz, Laurie Kincman and Amanda Kolbe, all Theatre & Dance, presented "Art in Motion" at Toland Theatre on Feb. 16 in the department's inaugural dance concert. Theatre & Dance students Brodyn Byington, Katie Krueger, Amber Meyers, Julia Maynard, Sage Goetsch, Ellie Burns, Coleman Breedlove, Avery Weston and Anna Montgomery joined 24 student dancers for the three-performance run of this new part of the Theatre & Dance season.

Michelle Collyar, Ashley Dobrogosz, Laurie Kincman, Megan Morey and Gregory Parmeter, all Theatre & Dance, presented "Cinderella" at UWL SummerStage on June 25 in Toland Theatre. The Department of Theatre & Dance has just completed the successful return of summer theatre to UWL with the production of Cinderella. Directed by Greg Parmeter and choreographed by Ashley Dobrogosz, the production featured scenic and sound design by Megan Morey, costume design by Michelle Collyar, lighting design by theatre student Brodyn Byington and stage management by Laurie Kincman. The production showcased the talents of many UWL students and La Crosse area artists and performers.
