Brief biography

Mao is originally from China, where she earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Computer Science. She then pursued and completed her Ph.D. in Computer Science in Canada. In 2002, she joined UW-La Crosse, where she initially served as an Assistant Professor until 2006. She was then promoted to Associate Professor in 2006, a position she held until 2017, when she became a Professor. In 2023, she took on the role of Director of the Master of Software Engineering program.

This paper presents a software system for autonomous mobile navigation based on the well-known Rasberry Pi. Carl Wimberly Founder's Award for International Partnerships was established to recognize an outstanding person or organization that has contributed to the development of long-term excellence in international programming. This award goes to an individual whose dedication has contributed to numerous graduates from partnerships in China for the Masters of Software Engineering, Mao Zheng.
