Brief biography

Dr. Shahid Iqbal is currently an Assistant Professor of Physics at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.  He received the M.S. degree in physics from Pittsburg State University in 2013, and the Ph.D. degree in experimental physics from Western Michigan University, Michigan in December 2019.  From 2020-2023, he worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Albion College in Albion, Michigan and at the Illinois Wesleyan University, Bloomington IL.  Dr. Shahid joined the physics faculty at UW-La Crosse in the Fall 2023.  His current research involves synthesis of metallic nanostructures, plasmonic, ion beam materials analysis, characterization of nanostructures, and the interaction between quantum emitters and nano-antennas.
