Scott Reber, Management, directed "MGT 301 Students at campus Fall Career Fair" on Oct. 9, 2019 in La Crosse, WI. In MGT 301, Business Communication, Scott and the other instructors of this course scheduled the employment communication unit to coincide with the UWL Fall Career Fair. In the two weeks leading up to this event, they had students write (or revise) their resumes, cover letters, and brand statements. Students also practiced their 30-second "elevator pitches" to give to recruiters. In addition, most MGT 301 instructors invited counselors from Career Services to serve as guest speakers and provide students with tips on how to optimize one's performance at, and the networking opportunities of, job fairs.
