NEW SPRING 2024!

Congratulations, graduates!

It's time to celebrate your achievement, thank those who matter to you most, and let your credentials go to work for you. Starting with the Spring 2024 graduation, the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse has teamed with Parchment to offer an official digital version of your diploma.

A digital diploma is fast, free and shareable!

Celebrate your accomplishment with those who supported you along the way - family, friends, and colleagues! Share with potential employers to kick-start the next step in your journey or career.

Go to your Parchment account to access your digital diploma.

When creating or updating your Parchment account, use an active, non-UWL email address in your profile so that you have access even after your UWL email is inactivated. You will receive a notification at your personal email address listed in WINGS when your digital diploma is ready.

Share your diploma on LinkedIn or Facebook!

How do I get my digital diploma?

Graduates will receive an email notification to their personal email address listed in WINGS with instructions for electronically claiming their diploma.

  1. Check your personal email for the award notification.
  2. Follow the link to set up your Parchment digital credentials account. Use a personal, non-UWL email address for this account because your UWL email will be inactivated following graduation.
  3. Share your digital diploma through social media or download a secure pdf version.

Your digital diploma will always be accessible through your Parchment account.

Reminder: Your diploma will be sent to your personal email address on file in WINGS.  If you did not list one in WINGS, then it will be sent to your UWL email. If you created a Parchment account already, you can easily update your email with Parchment to an active, non-UWL email address so you never lose access.

What can I do with my digital diploma?

Other possibilities

  • Many countries recognize digital diplomas in place of requiring an apostille with the diploma. Connect with the employer or institution in the other country to find out if they will accept digital diplomas.
When can I expect to receive my digital diploma?

Your digital diploma will be available to download and share 3-5 weeks after grades are due.

The physical paper diploma is sent out via USPS mail 4-6 weeks after grades are due.

Who will receive a digital diploma?

UW-La Crosse students who graduate with an undergraduate or graduate degree in the Spring of 2024 and after will receive a digital diploma that they can share with family, friends, and future employers.

Please note that graduate students earning a stand-alone certificate do not receive a diploma or participate in Commencement. However, they are sent a free complimentary copy of their transcript recording completion of the certificate.

Will I still get a paper diploma?

Yes, UW-La Crosse students graduating with an associate, bachelor's, or graduate degree will receive a paper diploma through the mail. The paper diploma is mailed to your home address in WINGS 4-6 weeks after the grade due date.

Can I order a duplicate copy of the paper diploma?

Duplicate diplomas can be ordered online, by mail, or in person. The fee is $25 per diploma.

Ordering online: You must have an account with Parchment to order online. Please use a non-UWL, personal email address when creating the account. If you already have an account with Parchment, you may use that account. Use the link below to order through an existing account or create a new account.

Ordering by mail or in person: The paper order form should be sent/brought to the Records and Registration Office along with the fee for the diploma. Only cash or check are accepted by mail. Credit cards are accepted in person but not by phone or by mail.

Where can I find information about Commencement?

Students expecting to graduate within the next year should submit their intent to graduate through WINGS.

Once your intention to graduate is submitted, you will start receiving official information through email about the Commencement ceremony after the start of your last semester.

Additional information can be found on the Commencement website.
