Mindfulness @ UWL

UWL Counseling & Testing, Wellness & Health Advocacy & Rec Sports have teamed up to provide non-credit Intro to Mindfulness courses to the campus community! UWL Intro to Mindfulness courses use curriculum designed by the Mindfulness Institute for Emerging Adults (MIEA) , formally known as Koru Mindfulness.

Mindfulness is simple, but not easy! Our four week Intro to Mindfulness is an introductory class that will teach you the skill of mindfulness. It will also help you build the habit of using it in your life on a regular basis. Positive outcomes include:

  • Less self judgment
  • Manage stress
  • Increased self-compassion
  • Better sleep
  • Increased calm

Expectations

We’ve found that folks get a lot more out of mindfulness if they stick with it from beginning to end, therefore attendance at all course dates is required.

Before the first class and between classes, students are expected to complete assigned readings and log their mindfulness practices in the Koru App.

Required Reading: FREE ebook available through Murphy Library

Koru Mindfulness App: FREE subscription with class registration
