UWL students have the opportunity to work as an Office Assistant - Administration & Reservations.
In this combined position, individuals must have: a positive attitude with strong customer service orientation, strong computer, communication, and organization skills, ability to perform tasks with careful attention to detail and accuracy, the ability to work appropriately with cash handling procedures, strong spelling and grammar skills, ability and desire to learn office procedures and equipment, Microsoft office skills, and preferred math and accounting skills. This office assistant will work with members of the campus community to provide customer service and meet the needs of the administrative and activities staff. Basic knowledge of AV equipment is preferred, but not necessary.
Position Responsibilities
- Greet all customers (students, faculty, staff, and community members) with a pleasant, positive attitude and desire to offer assistance to the best of your ability
- Explain and apply campus policies & procedures
- Compile financial reports and account details, prepare cash boxes, reconcile ticket sales revenue, process deposits
- Prepare and maintain administrative records relative to unit responsibilities
- Prepare contracts and riders for campus events
- Prepare and distribute daily reports and schedules
- Reserve audio visual equipment and know how to help customers if they do not understand the technology
- Assist customers with making room/audio equipment reservations and determining their setup needs.
- Become familiar with the technology used throughout the student union and be able to assist in the event that a problem arises
