Operation: River Watch has been recognized with several distinguished awards on the local, state, and national levels:
- ORW is a featured program within the Wisconsin Association for Community Organizing Policing.
- ORW has also been recognized within in the La Crosse community with the La Crosse Police Department Citizen Service award for exceptionally meritorious achievement for keeping La Crosse safe.
- ORW has been awarded with an Outstanding Program Award from the Celebration of Involvement and Leadership, an annual event at UWL.
- Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity's National Organization recognized ORW's success by awarding it the Robert Nagel Jones Charitable Projects Award.
ORW is also consistently recognized in the La Crosse Tribune every year around Oktoberfest for the Aid Station it operates downtown. With such community and national recognition, Operation: River Watch is a clear benefit to the La Crosse community and serves as a model for community-based policing and safety.
