Aspiring Educators of Wisconsin

Advisor: Denise Reuter

Aspiring Educators of Wisconsin is a statewide pre-professional organization for all prospective educators. The goal of this organization is to support future educators through active involvement in professional training, community projects, and multicultural and diversity experiences. Aspiring Educators is an affiliate of the Wisconsin Education Association.

Collegiate Middle Level Association (CMLA)

Advisor:

*UWL is currently without a chapter of CMLA*

The purposes of the Student CMLA shall be: (1) to develop in prospective middle level educators and understanding and appreciation of the total education profession, thus stimulating the highest professional standards, ethics, and attitudes with all age groups; (2) to establish communication between the Student CMLA, its affiliates, college students and other education associations; (3) to provide for education students a local, state, and national voice in matters affecting their education and the profession.

Early Childhood Club

Advisor: Val Krage

The purpose of the Early Childhood Club is to give students with early-childhood-related career goals opportunities to work with young children, collaborate with similar goal-orientated peers, learn about and discuss emerging Early Childhood topics, further professional development, and gain experience in the Early Childhood field.

Kappa Delta Pi (The International Honor Society in Education)

Adviser: Dr. Charlotte Roberts

The purpose of the Beta Tau Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi is to promote excellence in and recognize outstanding contributions to education. It shall endeavor to maintain a high degree of professional fellowship among its members, quicken professional growth, and honor achievement in education work. The group shall invite to membership such persons as exhibit commendable professional qualities, worthy educational ideals and sound scholarship.

Music Educators National Conference - Student Chapter #361, UWL (MENC)

Adviser: Dr. Tammy Fisher

Members become acquainted with the privileges and responsibilities of the music education field and have opportunities to meet leaders in the music education profession. MENC assists the university in various projects throughout the year.

Physical, Adapted, and School Health Education Majors (PASHE) Club

Advisor: Sarah Mosley

The UWL Physical, Adapted, and School Health Education Majors (PASHE) Club is the longest running student organization on campus.  The purpose of PASHE Club is to help future physical, adapted, and health education teachers develop and maintain a connection to the ever-changing world of physical education.

Student Council for Exceptional Children (SCEC)

Advisor: 

SCEC is a student organization that focuses on special education. We focus on disabilities in educational settings. We also do community outreach to educate K-12 students about disabilities. Opportunities to attend state and national conferences are available.

TESOL Club

Advisor: Dr. Heather Linville

Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages focuses on networking with other ESL professionals, TESOL minors and teachers in the surrounding community, as well as providing members hands-on opportunities to grow in their teaching skills.

Dean's Student Advisory Council (DSAC)

DSAC is a community of students, staff, and administration working collaboratively to create action-oriented practices around equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

DSAC aims to transform education spaces in the School of Education by creating a community of learners dedicated to access and visibility for all UWL teacher candidates.
