Student Teaching Opportunities

Milwaukee

Notre Dame School

The School of Education has partnered with the Notre Dame School of Milwaukee to offer student teaching opportunities. Placement opportunities at the K3-4th grade elementary school as well as the 5th-8th grade single gender middle schools. Notre Dame is a 4 star school and offers a Spanish/English Dual Language program. Spanish is not a requirement to student teach.

FREE housing and secure on-site parking is provided.

Milwaukee

Institute for Urban Education

Student teaching placements are for a full semester in an urban setting in the Milwaukee area – Milwaukee Public Schools, Waukesha, West Allis, and Racine.  These placements are a culturally diverse, urban teaching experience with evening seminars twice each month

Participants are responsible for additional housing and travel costs

Teaching Internship

Wisconsin Improvement Program

The Wisconsin Improvement Program Teaching Internship (WIP) offers internships throughout the state. UWL candidates who apply and are accepted into the intern pool can apply for an internship in their certification area. Through this internship, teacher candidates will participate in a full-semester placement in a school system, where they are employed by the school district and receive a stipend.

Worldwide

Educators Abroad

The School of Education has established a strong partnership with Educators Abroad. This partnership is designed to provide teacher candidates with an opportunity to complete one quarter (second or fourth), 10-weeks of the student teaching semester abroad. Some of our previous placements include: Taiwan, Bahrain, Kosovo, South Korea and many more!
