A page within Undergraduate Research & Creativity Laureate Program
The Undergraduate Research & Creativity Laureate Program recognizes undergraduate students for their significant achievements in research and/or creativity.
Please read all of the Program information before applying.
Students can apply for the URC Laureate Program via Canvas. The students and faculty/staff mentor must self-enroll in the course and submit all of the required application materials for the student to be considered for the program.
- Required student materials:
- Testimonial about the research or creative experience
- One testimonial is required per student. If a project involved more than one student, each must submit a separate testimonial via their individual Canvas account.

- Required mentor materials:
- Application form
- Students and mentors should complete the application form together. Students should be able to fill out most of the form independently but may need assistance from mentors on the funding and compliance sections. The form must ultimately be submitted by the mentor to verify that they have reviewed and are in support of the application.
- Digital submission OR link to external publication/licensed work OR peer-reviewed abstract accepted by a regional or national research conference/meeting
- A written work or creative piece must be submitted UNLESS an external publication or licensed work already exists, in which case, please provide a link to it instead.
- Digital submissions must be student-written or created, but it must be submitted by the mentor to verify that they have reviewed and are in support of the submission.
- Eligible externally published/licensed works do not have to be entirely student-written/created but must name the applying student(s) as a co-author or contributor to qualify.
- Statement for classroom projects/capstones/senior theses, if applicable
- If the project was a classroom project/capstone/senior thesis, the mentor must submit a detailed statement outlining how the student(s) applying for the URC Laureate Program went above and beyond the expectations or requirements of their coursework.
- Examples of how a student may go "above and beyond" in these situations could include (but are not limited to) working with more complex data sets, using more advanced analyses or techniques than required, etc.
- If the project was a classroom project/capstone/senior thesis, the mentor must submit a detailed statement outlining how the student(s) applying for the URC Laureate Program went above and beyond the expectations or requirements of their coursework.
