UWL Writing Center - Writing Center tutors are here to assist you with all of your writing needs. Simply stop by Murphy Library Learning Center sign up for a tutoring session. You may also come in on a drop-in basis if tutors are available. Use our computers, our reference books, our couch, our staplers, our tables--but most of all use our friendly and knowledgeable tutoring staff.
Murphy Library - Murphy Library is integral to student success at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. The library provides a dynamic and diverse learning environment centered on the core principles of service, stewardship, information literacy and equity of access. Exemplifying these principles, this teaching library carefully manages information resources that support and promote excellence in academic study and research, success in teaching and learning, and intellectual and cultural exploration. Murphy Library additionally serves the greater community as a regional information center.
STEP Program - STEP is designed as a collaborative program leading to licensure in Early Adolescence-Adolescence (approximate ages of learners 10 - 21) in which teacher candidates earn a bachelors degree in an appropriate content major combined with professional education coursework and multiple field experiences. STEP is part of the School of Education and is guided by its Conceptual Framework to become a leader in the preparation of globally responsive teachers through a University-wide commitment to teacher education.
Off-Campus Resources
Purdue OWL - The Online Writing Lab (OWL) at Purdue University houses writing resources and instructional material, and we provide these as a free service of the Writing Lab at Purdue. Students, members of the community, and users worldwide will find information to assist with many writing projects. Teachers and trainers may use this material for in-class and out-of-class instruction.
Project Gutenberg - Project Gutenberg is a volunteer effort to digitize and archive cultural works, to "encourage the creation and distribution of eBooks". It was founded in 1971 by Michael S. Hart and is the oldest digital library.
