We encourage you to join the many majors in our department who have or are including an internship as part of their work toward the sociology major. An internship gives you a chance to see how well you can apply your sociological knowledge and to be a participant/observer in an organization or agency related to your career explorations or plans. In order to obtain internship credit you must be a junior or senior AND you must have a cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 2.50

Career Services has a list of a wide variety of internships and information on Internships Options. Many students also come up with ideas for internships at work sites not listed by the university. If one interests you, talk it over with your Department Academic Advisor for guidance on how to apply for the internships, how to enroll for sociology "internship," and other relevant information.
