Full implementation of the title mapping phase is set for November 7, 2021.
On November 7, 2021, the first phase of the Title and Total Compensation Project will conclude with the official assignment of all mapped titles for affected employees. On this date, employees can expect an automated message from UW System outlining the assignment of their new titles.
Prior to that date, UW-La Crosse Human Resources will be engaging in an interactive dialogue with supervisors/chairs and employees regarding the preliminary mapped titles. Employees can expect notification of the preliminary mapped title by the goal date of August 30, 2021.
Outlined below is the expected timeline for this process:
- August 1 through August 30
UW-La Crosse Human Resources and managers engage in conversation about the preliminary mapped titles. As supervisors/chairs understand the requirements of the positions and desired expectations, their input first helps provide necessary feedback to the proper and correct alignment of titles. - August 30 through November 7
UW-La Crosse will be working with supervisors/chairs and employees to review and help understand title changes and other changes, (such as migration from exempt to non-exempt pay basis) prior to the official designation of the titles.
About 30 UW-La Crosse employees will be notified directly about their change from exempt status to non-exempt status. This change means that some positions may require hourly time recording rather than payment via salary.
