The "safe La Crosse event" runs from 5-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, in the Cleary Courtyard on the campus of Western Technical College (on 7th Street between Vine and Badger streets). Other performers include Brokecity and Elmwood.
The event is free to college students with ID. In case of rain, the event will be moved to Valhalla, Cartwright Center-Gunning Addition.
Alcohol-alternative RECtoberfest begins at 9 p.m.

The Recreational Eagle Center and Campus Activities Board (CAB) are teaming up to put on UW-L's annual alcohol-alternative event RECtoberfest from 9 p.m. to midnight Friday, Sept. 24, in the Recreational Eagle Center. This year's RECtoberfest features a Music Video Dance Party, karaoke, free food and many other activities. Plus, one lucky student will take home a new Nintendo DS.
