Alcohol-alternative Rock the Block and RECtoberfest events Sept. 24

[/caption]UW-L Chancellor Joe Gow and Western Technical College Lee Rasch, as well as the FurLow Riders (see Facebook page), will make special guest performances between 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the "Rock the Block" party. The "safe La Crosse event" runs from 5-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, in the Cleary Courtyard on the campus of Western Technical College (on 7th Street between Vine and Badger streets). Other performers include Brokecity and Elmwood. The event is free to college students with ID. In case of rain, the event will be moved to Valhalla, Cartwright Center-Gunning Addition. Alcohol-alternative RECtoberfest begins at 9 p.m. The Safe La Crosse event is sponsored by Viterbo University, Western Technical College, UW-L Wellness Resource Center and UW-L. The Recreational Eagle Center and Campus Activities Board (CAB) are teaming up to put on UW-L's annual alcohol-alternative event RECtoberfest from 9 p.m. to midnight Friday, Sept. 24, in the Recreational Eagle Center. This year's RECtoberfest features a Music Video Dance Party, karaoke, free food and many other activities. Plus, one lucky student will take home a new Nintendo DS.
