Whether you’re a fan of music, dance, theatre or visual arts, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Mark your calendars and make plans to visit!
Discover the arts on campus
The UWL Art Gallery showcases a diverse range of artistic talent with art exhibitions that are always free and open to the public. Join us for the Senior Art Majors Exhibition from Nov. 22-Dec. 15, featuring the work of UWL graduating seniors. The opening reception runs from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22.
Gallery hours:
1-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday
1-5 p.m. Friday-Sunday
(Closed during UWL holidays and breaks.)
Where? The UWL Art Gallery is located inside Truman T. Lowe Center for the Arts, at the corner of 15th St. N. and Vine Street.
A new take on a classic love story
Dive into the world of Jane Austen with the play “The Wickhams: Christmas at Pemberley,” a delightful sequel to “Pride and Prejudice.” UWL Theatre performances will be at 7:30 p.m. December 5-7, with matinees at 2 p.m. on December 7-8 at the Toland Theatre in the Lowe Center for the Arts. This play, by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon, transports audiences to the servants’ quarters during a holiday filled with scandal and intrigue. Don’t miss your chance to witness the interplay of class, privilege, and the true spirit of giving.
Celebrate the season with UWL music
Join the UWL Concert Choir and Treble Chorus for “A Celebration of the Season” from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, at the Cappella Performing Arts Center, 721 King St.
This heartwarming concert will feature a mix of sacred and secular selections, setting the perfect mood for the holidays. A suggested minimum donation of $10 for adults (advance online; cash or check at the door). Students are free.
Symphonic sounds await
To round out the holiday festivities, the UWL Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Professor Martin I. Gaines, invites you to a concert from 2-3 p.m. Dec. 8, at Annett Recital Hall. This performance is free. No reservation required.
