Alum reflects on time at UWL as he continues to give back

Joe Laux is “really grateful” for his time at UWL. The 1989 marketing and management graduate met his wife through UWL track and cross country and learned hard work, discipline and management. “It was a real pleasure,” he says. Laux, the CEO at River States Truck and Trailer, always takes time to reflect on why he is where he is today. “I’m lucky enough to have a successful business,” says Laux. “Part of that success is helping others be successful.” Laux gives back to UWL in a number of ways. He has hosted events with the Alumni Association, started a scholarship with his wife and family for marketing students and he recently spoke with some College of Business Administration students at his company. “If you have the ability to give, think about it,” says Laux. “It doesn’t matter if you give a million dollars or a buck, but you have to want to do it.”
