Library Director Catherine Lavallée-Welch offers welcoming comments for the start of fall 2013.

The beginning of a new academic year is always exciting, whether it’s your first year on campus or you’ve made the trip to UW-La Crosse many times. This will be my first fall semest [caption id="attachment_1171" align="alignright" width="198"]Catherine Lavalee-Welch Catherine Lavalee-Welch

Murphy Library is ready as well to answer your informational needs with our books, journals, A/V, special collections and electronic databases. Electronic resources can be accessed from off-campus too! We have spaces for your different space needs: the first floor for collaborative work, the other two floors for quiet study, a café for breaks, and study rooms for group work. You’ll see new faces, like Sharon Hamilton, our new Instructional Design and Instruction Librarian, and some improvements like a new website, a new printing system, large monitors in some of our group study rooms and new laptops to check out. And later on this semester, we’ll have additional student workstations and iPads as well. Please remember that if you don’t know where to start, or how to use our materials, you can ask us in person, or using chat, phone or email. We’re here to help! Wishing you a great 2013 fall semester, Catherine Lavallée-Welch Director, Murphy Library
