[/caption]One of the greatest benefits of the UW-L Alumni Association is the networking opportunities it provides for alumni throughout the country.
"These events open doors to network with other professionals who are also proud to be UW-L alums,” says Alicia Stratman, ‘97.
Last summer Stratman met a fellow alum on the Milwaukee boat cruise who graduated seven years after her. Despite the gap between their graduation dates, the two had a lot to talk about.
"We recognized that my business with a national company was just what she was looking for. She fell in love with the products and we now work together," said Stratman. "It’s a small world. I'm so glad we met."
Membership in the Alumni Association offers not only networking opportunities but also keeps you informed through the Lantern magazine; offers Legacy scholarships; provides discounts at area merchants and on auto, home and long term care insurance; and most importantly supports programs that strengthen UW-L.
