UWL Theatre webs together a story of friendship
The UW-La Crosse Department of Theatre Arts will present the beloved children’s classic, "Charlotte's Web," dramatized by playwright Joseph Robinette.
Based on the Newbery HonorAward-winningg novel by E.B. White, "Charlotte’s Web" tells the story of “some pig” named Wilbur. As a piglet, Wilbur is saved and nursed to health by a loving farm girl named Fern. Wilbur is eventually sold to Fern’s uncle, where he joins a barn full of loud and opinionated group of animals. Upon arrival, Wilbur is in danger once again, as he discovers that he is intended for a dinner, not the farm. Wilbur meets a new friend; Charlotte, a kind and wise spider, who hatches a plan to save Wilbur. Through the spinning of her vocabulary-filled webs she gives Wilbur salvation, and shows the world and Wilbur how truly special he is.
Charlotte’s Web runs at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7 in the Frederick Theatre, UWL Morris Hall.
