Coulee Region Chinese School on campus

Area K-12 students are coming to UW-La Crosse on the weekends to learn Chinese. The UWL College of Science and Health and Biology Department are hosting the Coulee Region Chinese School, a non-profit Chinese language school that was established in 1993. The Chinese school has been serving La Crosse area communities for more than two decades to provide an educational environment for students to learn Chinese language and culture. The school also works to foster and enhance multicultural understanding and diversity in La Crosse area communities. The school offers Chinese classes for students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Classes meet Saturdays from 12:45-2:45 p.m. in Wimberly Hall. The principal of the Chinese school is Sumei Liu, an associate professor of biology. She can be contacted at sliu@uwlax.edu or 608.785.6971.
