UWL Theatre presents a vibrant and youthful exploration of human connection

The UW-La Crosse Department of Theatre Arts SummerStage production is The Theory of Relativity, a new musical that adapts the true stories of 13 young adults as they float in and out of relationships, navigate friendships, and struggle to find acceptance on the rocky path to adulthood. The Theory of Relativity will be performed at 7:30 p.m. June 23-24 and June 29-July 1, with matinee performances at 2 p.m. Sundays, June 25 and July 2, in Toland Theatre, Center for the Arts, 333 N. 16th St. The Theory of Relativity is a joyous and moving look about surprisingly interconnected lives. Through a seemingly unrelated collection of songs, scenes and monologues, the musical introduces a compelling array of characters experiencing the joys and heartbreaks, the liaisons and losses, the inevitability and the wonder of human connection. Among the topics covered: being allergic to cats, in love for the first or tenth time, life as a child of divorce, a germaphobe, simply a unique individual and more. Music and lyrics are by Neil Bartram, based on a book by Brian Hill, Tickets go on sale at 1 p.m. Monday, June 19. Box office hours are 1-4:30 p.m. weekdays and one hour before show times. Tickets are $12 for UWL students, $20 for senior citizens and other students, and $22 for others.
